EXHIBIT B
Site Investigation
City of Tracy
Corral Hollow and Byron Roads
April 10, 1988
Introduction:
During the past week, April 1, 1988 through April 8, 1988, T.T. I.
has performed certain work for the city of Tracy at the above-named
site. Two soil borings have been made, (see attached Location Map) .
Analysis of three (3) soil samples has revealed the existence of
hydrocarbon contamination between Southern Pacific Railroad tracks
and Byron Road, 50'± east of Corral Hollow Road. Contamination extends
into, or at least near, the groundwater. Soil sample analysis
indicates the following contamination levels: 200 mg/kg diesel fuel
and 350 to 610 mg/kg motor oil . No gasoline was found in these three
samples.
The soil boring to 13' at the south shoulder of Byron Road and
centerline of the city of Tracy waterline project did not indicate
any hydrocarbon contamination.
Recommended Work Plan:
To date, the work performed by T.T. I. at the Corral Hollow and Byron
Road site has been limited to preliminary surface and subsurface
investigation that identified a mass of contaminated soil at the
city of Tracy' s water pipe construction site. This location, 50' ±
east of Corral Hollow Road and the intersection of the Southern Pacific
Railroad is crossed by the following parallel facilities:
1. Byron Road, City of Tracy
2. Fiber Optics Cable, Pacific Bell
3. 12" Pipeline, Southern Pacific
4. Single-Track Railroad, Southern Pacific
5. Irrigation Pipeline, West Side Irrigation District
Groundwater is encountered just below the pipeline invert, (29.7'
elevation).
1
