5:00 p.m. L. A. Moldenhauer directed the driller to proceed with <br /> drilling 2" - 8" borings to depths of 10' at the north <br /> shoulder of Byron Road and 13' at the south shoulder of <br /> said road. These two borings provided the following <br /> information pertinent to the Tracy waterline project: <br /> 1. There is contamination under the north shoulder of <br /> Byron Road at the project centerline. <br /> 2. There was no appearance of contamination in the borehole <br /> under the south shoulder of Byron Road. <br /> 3. The following soil samples were sent to California <br /> Water Labs, Modesto, California: <br /> a. From the horizontal bore - drilling debris at north <br /> end of the boring pit waste pile. <br /> b. Ten foot ( 10' ) depth of borehole located on north <br /> shoulder of Byron Road. <br /> c. Thirteen foot (13' ) depth of borehole at south <br /> shoulder of Byron Road. <br /> NOTE: Boreholes were covered but not filled. <br /> 7:00 p.m. Site was vacated by all hands. <br /> Tuesday, April 5, 1988: L. A. Moldenhauer visited SJLHD and spoke <br /> to Dave Carlis about drilling permit. Dave <br /> Carlis met with supervisors and gave L. <br /> A. Moldenhauer the following: <br /> 1. Drilling Permit Application <br /> 2. Leaking Underground Storage Tank <br /> Investigation Formats. <br /> Dave stated that no more work was to be <br /> performed until the drilling permit was <br /> approved and the preliminary Report and <br /> Site Assessment Plan was approved by the <br /> Regional Board and SJLHD. Further, the <br /> State Health Department, (Robert Grimshaw) , <br /> should be contacted by the city of Tracy. <br /> 9:00 a.m. L. A. Moldenhauer met with Robert Grimshaw, State Health <br /> Department, who indicated concern about the Tracy pipeline <br /> crossing the contaminated area. <br /> 3 <br />
