CONSTRUCTION OR REPAIR: <br /> A. WELL GROUTING AND CONSTRUCTION <br /> The primary purpose is to prevent contamination, pollution and degrada- <br /> tion of water wells and of the ground water by poor quality water. <br /> 1. The annular space between the well casing and the wall of the drilled <br /> hole, or betweeii the conductor pipe and the wall of the drilled hole, <br /> or the well casir,g shall :>e filled with cement grout or puddled <br /> clay from the ground surface into an impervious formation under- <br /> laying the uppermost aquifer, if an impervious formation does not <br /> exist, the annular space shall be filled to a sufficient depth to <br /> prevent polluted or contaminated water from entering the well. <br /> The minimum depth of the annular seal shall be as follows : <br /> Public Water Supplies -------------------------- 50 ft. <br /> Individual Domestic Wells ---------------------- 50 ft. <br /> Industrial Wells ------------------------------ 50 ft. <br /> Agricultural Wells ---------------------------- ** <br /> Air Conditioning Wells ------------------------- 20 ft. <br /> **Local conditions will determine depth of seal. Seal to 50 feet <br /> if 50 feet or less from a domestic well or from sources of con- <br /> tamination such as septic tanks , sewage disposal fields, live- <br /> stock corrals , etc. All sealing shall be permanent. <br /> —3— <br /> r <br />
