KL E/NFEL DER
\\ ''8r'Al Fcoplr.R%)Af Y..ivec a
diesel UST. Discolored soil, unusual odors, and positive PID readings were
not observed.
• The 12 soil samples submitted for analyses from four vertical probes
advanced near each end and the middle of the diesel tank had no reported
detections of TPHd or BTEX at or above laboratory reporting limits. The
reporting limits were not noted to be elevated due to matrix interference,
dilution effects, or other quality control criteria. Based on this data it does
not appear that diesel leaks from the diesel tank have impacted soil at the
locations and depths sampled. Therefore, at this time it does not appear
that a significant leak has occurred from this UST, and Kleinfelder does not
recommend any additional work until tank removal operations.
• Although Kleinfelder's observations and analytical results in this
assessment do not indicate a fuel leak from this UST, there is still a
possibility of a leak in areas not assessed or sampled, including directly
beneath the UST.
• Kleinfelder recommends forwarding this report to SJCEHD as additional
data and information that will ultimately assist SCDER in recommending
and providing closure documentation for this UST. Kleinfelder recommends
eventual removal of this tank according to state and federal guidelines and
follow-up confirmation soil sampling after tank removal to document soil
conditions and the potential need for over-excavation activities.
This report and the conclusions and recommendations presented in this report are
subject to the "Limitations" presented below. Any party (other than Dameron or
regulatory agencies having enforcement jurisdiction for this site) who would like to use
this report shall notify Kleinfelder of such intent in writing.
LIMITATIONS
Kleinfelder has prepared this report in accordance with the generally accepted
standards of care, which exist in San Joaquin County at the time of writing. It should be
recognized that definition and evaluation of geologic and chemical subsurface
conditions is difficult. Judgments leading to conclusions and recommendations are
generally made with an incomplete knowledge of the subsurface and/or historic
conditions applicable to the site. The conclusions of this assessment are based on field
observations and analytical results obtained from soil samples collected from the site.
More extensive studies may further reduce the uncertainties associated with this
assessment. Kleinfelder should be notified for additional consultation if the client wishes
to reduce the uncertainties beyond the level associated with this report. No warranty,
expressed or implied, is made.
124508.T3/ST012R0251 Page 4 of 6 February 20, 2012
Copyright 2012 Kleinfelder
