Action-specific ARARs are usually <br /> technology or activity based requirements or limitations on <br /> actions taken with respect to hazardous wastes. Chemical- <br /> specific ARARs are usually health or risk based numerical values <br /> or methodologies which, when applied to site specific conditions <br /> result in a numerical value (i.e. , drinking water maximum <br /> contaminant levels) . Site-specific or location-specific ARARs <br /> are usually restrictions placed on the concentrations of <br /> hazardous substances or the conduct of activities solely because <br /> they occur in special locations (i.e. , wetlands, etc. ) . <br /> The Department requests your ARAR determination as soon as <br /> possible, or at least by May 11, 1992 .
