Well Abandonment Final Work Plan -2- 19 March 1992
DDRW, Tracy
Abandonment of Supply Wells No. 1 and 2 should be the primary objective of this
field effort rather than the collection of soil and ground water samples from
these wells. If field conditions indicate that the wells are instable, we
recommend that sampling be deleted in favor of performing an adequate
abandonment.
Abandonment of LM-60 is not necessary if this monitor well can be repaired.
However, if LM-60 is abandoned and if future ground water monitoring data
indicates that an off-site monitor well is needed in this area to define the
extent of contamination, we will require that a replacement monitoring well be
installed.
We request that a one week notice be provided prior to initiation of field
activities. We plan to be present during abandonment of the wells. In addition,
we require that the appropriate well abandonment permits/records be filed with
San Joaquin County and the Department of Water Resources.
If you have any question, please call me at (916)361-5670.
CAMILLA WILLIAMS
Engineering Geologist
CKW:cw
cc: Mr. Michael Work, U.
