The ARARs are in the Title 22 of the California Code <br /> of Regulations, Chapter 15, California Domestic Water Quality and <br /> Monitoring Regulations. The applicable drinking water standards <br /> are listed in Article 3 through Article 8 of Chapter 15. A copy <br /> of Articles 3 through Article 8 is enclosed with this letter for <br /> your use. <br /> The bacteriological standards and Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) <br /> begin on page 93 of the regulations. The general mineral, <br /> general physical and inorganic chemical standards and MCLS begin <br /> on page 97, and the radiological standards and MCLs begin on page <br /> 100. The organic chemical standards and MCLs begin on page 102 <br /> of the regulations. Secondary drinking water standards are <br /> listed in a section beginning on page 116. <br /> Your letter indicated that trichloroethylene (TCE) and <br /> tetrachloroethylene (PCE) are the primary contaminants of concern <br /> at the Tracy Depot site. Since TCE is a regulated organic <br /> chemical, its maximum contaminant level of 0. 005 mg/l is in the <br /> table of organic chemical MCLs on page 103 of the regulations. <br /> Similarly, PCE is regulated, and its MCL of 0. 0. 005 mg/l is also <br /> tabulated on page 103 . <br /> If your have any further questions regarding the Tracy Depot site <br /> or the drinking water standards, contact Joe Spano at 209-948- <br /> 3816 (ATSS: 8-423-3816) . <br /> 1 <br /> A.
