Section 2. Proposed Scope of Work <br /> The following scope of work(SOW) will be performed to characterize contaminated soil located at areas <br /> 2A, and 24 for disposal,prior to site excavation activities that are tentatively scheduled to begin in August <br /> 2008 as part of the Site RAP. The objective of this SI is to collect composite soil samples from borings to <br /> provide soil analytical data for every 1,000 cubic yards of soil to be excavated during the remedial action <br /> implementation. The soil will be disposed to an approved class II waste disposal facility. The following <br /> SOW will be performed during this SI: <br /> ■ Prepare this SAP <br /> ■ Prepare a Site-specific Health and Safety Plan <br /> ■ Obtain drilling permits from San Joaquin County <br /> ■ Obtain utility clearance through Underground Service Alert (USA) and a private contractor <br /> ■ Drill up to 48 soil borings in areas 2A, and 24,to an average depth of 12 feet bgs <br /> ■ Install five temporary piezometers <br /> ■ Collect soil samples from each boring(to be combined as composite samples) <br /> ■ Collect grab groundwater,samples from three piezometers <br /> ■ Analyze soil and groundwater samples for the following COCs: <br /> Leaking underground fuel tank(LUFT) 5 Metals by Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) <br /> Method 6010B <br /> Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-motor oil (TPH-mo) by EPA Method 8015B with <br /> Silica Gel Clean-up <br /> TPH-diesel(d)by EPA Method 8015B with Silica Gel Clean-up <br /> TPH-gasoline (g) and benzene,toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes (BTEX)by EPA Method <br /> 8260B <br /> Polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs)by EPA Method 8082 <br /> In situ characterization will be conducted with a Geoprobe® Direct Push Technology (DPT) drilling rig <br /> over a four day period and will consist of advancing a total of 48 borings to groundwater, at an average <br /> depth 11 feet bgs at both Areas 2A and 24. <br /> \\con4s0lV ojeMW08_Projects\28-078 City of Stockton Soil Excavation\B.Onginals\Sampling and Analysis Plan\Stocklon—SAP—Draft-082408—bh.dm <br /> 2-1 <br /> ERRG <br />
