C A M B R I A
Monitoring Well Destructions
Cambria obtained a SJCEHD well destruction permit (Appendix A). On
April 12 through 14, 2003, Cambria field staff observed Gregg Drilling, Inc. (Gregg) of
Martinez, California destroy wells VE-1 through VE-3, MW-5, MW-6, and MW-8 by
over-drilling. The wellhead vault boxes were removed and the wells were over-drilled with
twelve-inch hollow-stem augers to two feet below the completed well total depth. The resulting
borings were backfilled with neat cement grout to grade and topped with concrete patch.
Approximately 8.5 tons of soil were generated during field activities, stored onsite, and covered
with plastic sheeting. The soil stockpile was sampled and'profiled for disposal (laboratory data
in Appendix B). On June 9, 2003, Manley and Sons Trucking, Inc. of Sacramento, California
transported the soil to Allied Waste Industries' Forward Landfill in Manteca, California for
disposal.
If you have any questions regarding the contents of this document, please call Aubrey Cool at
(510)420-3336.
Sincerely,
Cambria Environmental Technology_ .
