i
I
San Joaquin County Public Health Services.Mme 3.1991,Letter
420 West Kettieman Lane,Lodi,California
i
1,000 ppm and BTEX at 1, 50, 50, and 50 ppm:; Since the levels are at or
within the maximum allowable levels and the impacted soil was shallow,
Aegis feels an additional well is unnecessary. In addition, a consistent
groundwater flow direction will be difficult to ascertain due to a gradient
consistently measured at 0.001 ft/ft (a very flat lying.water table). Also, the
ARCO station to the northwest of the site has, a groundwater treatment
system in operation which may effect the Focal gradient. There is currently
a well on the southwest portion of the site from Which groundwater samples
have been consistently BDL. It is Aegis' opinion that -a groundwater flow
3
direction to the southeast may not be accurate,;and measurements in the
past are more consistently in a southwest direction, further supporting
Aegis' opinion that additional wells are not required.
i
• The SJCPHS/EHD requested additionai'.I information on stockpiled soil
disposal for soils generated during the drilling of:;borings 131 through B16 in
September 1989, and MW-1 through MW-Sin October 1990. The 1989 soils
were disposed of at Casmalia Resources it Casmalia, California. The 1990
soils were disposed of at Zanker Landfill in Mountain View, California.
Please refer to Attachment 3 for documentation.
Please call me at (916) 782-2110 if you have any questions or comments.
