' 2.0 Scope of Work <br /> The scope of work for the investigation was outlined in Shaw's work plan dated <br /> February 3, 2003, which was approved for implementation by Caltrans and the SJCEHD. The <br /> following scope of work was conducted: <br /> 1. Planning and Permitting <br /> 2. Preparation of Workplan and He ilth and Safety Plan <br /> 3. Field Investigation <br /> ' 4. Laboratory Analyses <br /> 5. Investigation-Derived Waste Disposal <br /> 6. Site Investigation Report Preparation <br /> 2.1 Planning and Permitting <br /> i A drilling permit was obtained from the SJCEHD (Appendix Q. A Caltrans encroachment <br /> permit was not required. All work was conducted within Caltrans property. Underground <br /> Service Alert (USA) was notified of the subsurface investigation 48 hours prior to initiation of <br /> the investigation. <br /> Margaret Lagorio and Michael Infurna of the SJCEHD, Elizabeth Janes of the EPA Region 9 <br /> Groundwater Office, Martha Adams of Shaw and Sai yed Ali of Caltrans attended a pre-work site <br /> visit on April 23, 2002. Items discussed and reviewed during the meeting included the scope of <br /> work, the site visit checklist, and the project schedule. Michael Infurna, Martha Adams, and <br /> t Saiyed Ali attended a follow-up site visit on December 27, 2002 to mark proposed boring <br /> locations. <br /> 2.2 Preparation of Workplan and Health and Safety Plan <br /> A workplan (Shaw, 2003a) was prepared to present the scope of work and the procedures to be <br /> .` used in the field. The workplan also provided information regarding laboratory analyses, <br /> investigation-derived waste management, and report preparation.
