' Project No S8080-06-01C <br /> August 31, 1994 <br />' Method 8015 modified, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) <br /> following EPA Test Method 8020, halogenated volatile organics following EPA <br /> Test Method 601 and methyl-cert-butyl-ether (MTBE) following EPA Test <br />' Method 602 <br />' Task 2 - Soil Vapor Survev <br /> The following pre-field activities were performed in support of the soil vapor survey and <br />' subsequent exploratory borings <br /> Pre-Field Activities <br />' Prepared a "Workplan" dated July 1, 1994 summarizing the proposed field <br /> activities and submitted the plan to the San Joaquin County Environmental <br />' Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> • Prepared a "Health and Safety Plan" dated July 7, 1994 to provide guidelines on <br /> the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the field activities and <br /> submitted the plan to the SJCEHD The Health and Safety Plan also provides <br /> guidelines on the use of onsite monitoring equipment and action levels for <br /> upgrades to higher PPE <br /> 10 Contacted the public utility agencies via Underground Service Alert prior to the <br /> field exploration activities to attempt to locate underground utilities in proximity <br />' to the proposed soil vapor probe and exploratory boring locations <br /> • Obtained a one year soil boring permit dated July 7, 1994, including the <br />' submittal of an $89 application fee to the SJCEHD, for the performance of the <br /> soil vapor survey and exploratory borings <br />' Soil Vapor Survey Field Activities <br />' • Retained Transglobal Environmental Geochemistry (TEG) of Sacramento, <br /> California, to perform a soil vapor survey at the site <br /> • Collected a total of 15 soil vapor samples from nine onsite soil vapor probe <br /> locations (SVS-1 through SVS-9) The vapor samples were analyzed in TEG's <br /> - 5 - <br /> 1 <br />
