PUBLIC YIEALTH SERVICES p
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY40,
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
Ernest M. Fujimoto, M.D., M.P.H., Acting Health Officer c.. •
445 N. San Joaquin Street • P.O. Consistent groundwater data over time is essential for
confirming no adverse impact to groundwater. As the estimated
time for the completion of the soil remediation is approximately
18 months from the start of the vapor extraction system, any
monitoring/sampling frequency less than quarterly may not be
sufficient to support a closure recommendation.
PHS/EHD has received copies of the letters to consultants
requesting an "Invitation For Bids" from Neumiller and Beardslee.
The letter requests a workplan be compiled to be submitted to
PHS/EHD. PHS/EHD does not require a workplan for the
construction of the remediation system for the site. This was
discussed with Bruce Inman of Neumiller and Beardslee on July 29,
1994, during a telephone conversation with PHS/EHD staff.
For your information, the following reports, workplans and
notifications will be required until the completion of site
cleanup.
NOTIFICATION TO PSS/EHD
PHS/EHD will require 48 hours advance notice any time water or
soil samples are being collected from the site. PHS/EHD will
observe the methods used in collecting, handling, storing and
transporting the samples to ensure that representative sample
results will be obtained.
A l7iosiun of San,loaquin County Health Care Services
