f
Kyle Christie
Page 2
to the amount of soil they received. a also requested monitoring
wells within 50 feet of a sewer 1ne be re-tested for fecal
coliform. In a phone conversation n November 1, 1990, Janice
Hubbard, a Brown and Caldwell consulta t, stated these items would
be included in the next quarterly rep rt. They were not included
in the Quarterly Report dated January 30, 1991. This information
should be incorporated into the FRP.
The extent of contamination has not been determined to the west of
this site. The level of contaminatio detected in monitoring well
#3 increased between May 1990, and Oct ber 1990. In Addendum Three
(3) to the Problem Assessment Report, it was stated that monitoring
wells were not installed to the west of the station due to lack of
landowner consent. The placement of a monitoring well in the city
sidewalk south of the station to the west of monitoring well #3
should be considered.
The chain of custody for the October 1S 90 .water sampling shows that
the samples were relinquished to the lab on October 5, 1990, and
received by the lab on October 4, 1990. A correction should be
addressed and attention to proper completion of forms in the future
should be made. Also pH and EC readings are shown on the October
Quarterly Report. Temperature readings should also be taken and
included in the report.
In July, 1987, during drilling of boring #1, a leaded gas product
line was damaged. Future groundwater sampling should include
testing for total lead and EDB.
In the future, please give this office a 48 hour notice prior to
sampling or other site activities so ive can observe activities.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, at
(209) 468-3449.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
HZicer
Cotulla, REHS, Program Manager
nvironmental Health Division
LAC/ML:nr
c: CVRWQCB
c: Brown and Caldwell
723 "S" Street, Sacramento, CA 9 814
