Changes to these specified items of PPE wi 1 not be made without the approval of <br /> the site safety officer. <br /> i'. <br /> While working on site, field personnel will wear hard hat, steel toe boots, disposable <br /> gloves, and work clothes. In addition, for traffic hazards, high-visibility vests will be <br /> worn. i <br /> Environmental Monitoring Pian <br /> ij <br /> The potential hazards identified in the hazard analysis portion of this SSHPii indicate <br /> that environmental monitoring will not be necessary for this project. <br /> .i <br /> Medical Surveillance Requirements <br /> i <br /> Medical surveillance is conducted as a routine program which meets the requirements <br /> of 29 CFR 1910.120 (f). There will not be an special medical tests or examinations <br /> required for staff involved in this project. <br /> Site Control Measures <br /> it <br /> The BC Project Geologist, Ms. Jeanne Wallbe g, will be in charge of on-site;activities <br /> and will be responsible for site control. A map of the site is included as Figure 2. The <br /> active work area will be defined by safety tape, cores, or other suitable methods. <br /> Communications between field team members vill. consist of verbal communication. <br /> Work Practices. Safe work practices to be employed during the entire progress of <br /> field work are as follows: <br /> ii <br /> 1. Set up, assemble, and check out all equi ment for integrity and proper; function <br /> prior to starting work activities. <br /> ii <br /> 2. Do not ttse faulty or suspect equipment. <br /> 3. Use only new and intact protective clothing. Change the suit, gloves, etc. if they <br /> tear. <br /> I <br /> 4. Do not use hands to wipe sweat away f om face. Use a clean towel or paper <br /> towels. <br /> 5. Practice contamination avoidance at all [ins,-s. <br /> .i <br /> b. Do not smoke, eat, drink or apply cosmetics while working. ii <br />
