This Addendum was
prepared to provide the revised mass balance of nitrogen loading.
The current site usage includes a 1,678-square foot house with two bedrooms.
Residential use includes showering/bathing, clothes washing, cooking, and hand
washing. The reasonable or maximum usage of wastewater for the two-bedroom house
is 100 gallons for the first bedroom and 50 gpd for each additional bedroom for a total of
150 gpd.
The future site usage includes the addition of a residence with three bedrooms for
residential use. The reasonable or maximum usage of wastewater for the three-bedroom
modular home is 100 gallons for the first bedroom and 50 gpd for each additional bedroom
for a total of 200 gpd.
The EHD requires the user to consider all potential sources identified for wastewater
generation. Further, the EHD supports the use of Hantzsche/Finnemore, or other
appropriate formula/model to calculate a mass of nitrogen loading.
RESIDENTIAL:
The Hantzsche / Finnemore (Nr) equation for residential home application:
Nr = IxNw (1-d) + RxNb + (I+R)
Definitions:
837 Shaw Road • Stockton, CA 95215
Telephone (800) 511-9300 - Fax (888) 445-8786
