Appllod GwSysfems 4191•E Power Inn Road,Sacramento,CA 95826 (916) 452-2981
•FREMONT o IRVINE a HOUSTON •BOSTON •SACRAMENTO •CULVER CITY o SAN JOSE
i
RESULTS OF INITIAL INVESTIGATION
AND WORK PLAN FOR EXCAVATION
DURING TANK REPLACEMENT
at
ARCO Service Station No. 2076
800 Kettleman Lane
Lodi, California
For ARCO Products Company
4. INTRODUCTION }
r
At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), Applied GeoSystems is submitting
E p the results of our initial subsurface environmental investigation and a work plan to excavate
the existing and proposed gasoline tank cavities at ARCO Service Station No.2076,800 East
Kettleman]Lane in Lodi,California. The purpose of the initial investigation was to evaluate i
soil.for possible hydrocarbons before the removal of underground storage tanks. ;
We understand that the San Joaquin Pui;lac Health Services(SJPHS)requires an approved
' work plan to excavate soil greater than 41c, below the existing tanks. The proposed
additional work includes excavating hydrocarbanous soil, if present, from the base of the
a existing gasoline tank cavity ,after the;removal of five_underground-storage-_tanks and—
excavating a new tank cavity to install four now underground storage tanks. Soil samples
collected from soil borings drilled in October 1990 did not contain hydrocarbons at levels
thatvrarrant remediation;however,we are submittingthis work plan to.obtain authorization .
