r <br /> AMA <br /> September 8, 1992 Working To Restore Nature <br /> ARCO Station No. 2076, Lodi, California <br /> o Collect four discrete soil samples from the drill cuttings to be composited into <br /> one sample for analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) <br /> and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers (BTEX) We <br /> will apprise ARCO of disposal options after receiving laboratory results <br /> o Submit soil samples from the borings (one sample from dust above the <br /> saturated zone and the sample having the highest photoionization detector <br /> reading) to an ARCO-approved laboratory for analysis of TPHg and BTEX <br /> Additional soil samples may be submitted if necessary to delineate <br /> hydrocarbons vertically and horizontally <br /> o Develop, purge, and sample the ground-water monitoring wells Water <br /> samples will be submitted to a laboratory approved by ARCO for analysis of <br /> TPHg and BTEX <br /> o Contract a licensed surveyor to survey the wells with respect to mean sea level <br /> • TASK 3 REPORT PREPARATION <br /> o Evaluate the data and ground-water flow directions and gradient <br /> o Prepare a Preliminary Investigations and Evaluation Report summarizing our <br /> findings, conclusions, and recommendations <br /> o Assist ARCO's subcontractors to dispose of drill cuttings and purge water <br /> The additional work will be performed in accordance with the Tri-Regional Board Staff <br /> Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of Underground Tank Sites <br /> (California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, 1989), Appendix <br /> A to that document (August 1990), and the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank Manual <br /> (California Leaking Underground Fuel Tank Task Force, 1989) The Site Mitigation <br /> Acknowledgement/ Request For Services Form is included in attachments to this work plan <br /> We recommend that a copies of this work plan and the drilling permits be forwarded to Mr <br /> Steve Schneider of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division, 445 North San Joaquin, Stockton, California 95202, and Ms Elizabeth Thayer of <br /> the California Regional Water Quality Control Board located at 3443 Routler Road, Suite <br /> A, Sacramento, CA 95827-3098 <br /> 30008-5w 3 <br />
