September 8, 1992 Working To Restore Nature <br /> ARCO Station No 2076, Lodi, California <br /> Based on data from investigations to date, residual hydrocarbons are delineated laterally to <br /> the north, west, and south of the former gasoline tank cavity Soil with residual gasoline <br /> hydrocarbons remains in place at approximately 14 feet below grade in the former gasoline <br /> cavity and in the eastern sidewall adjacent to the station building and below the former <br /> product and vent lines <br /> PROPOSED WORK <br /> This investigation is designed to assess the extent of hydrocarbons in soil and whether <br /> ground water underlying the site has been affected by hydrocarbons The specific tasks are <br /> summarized below RESNA will perform the following tasks <br /> TASK 1 RECORD SEARCH AND PERMITTING <br /> o Conduct a file search at the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division(SJCPHS-EHD), to evaluate the local ground- <br /> water flow direction <br /> o Acquire drilling permits from the SJCPHS-EHD <br /> TASK 2 FIELD OPERATIONS <br /> o Observe drilling of four 10-inch-diameter soil borings to approximately 30 feet <br /> below grade and installation of 4-inch-diameter vapor-extraction wells Plate <br /> 2 presents the proposed locations of the soil borings/vapor-extraction wells <br /> Boring and well locations are shown on Plate 2 <br /> o Observe drilling of four 8-inch-diameter soil borings to approximately 30 feet <br /> below grade to delineate the vertical and lateral extent of residual <br /> hydrocarbons in soil <br /> o Observe drilling of four 10-inch-diameter soil borings to approximately 45 feet <br /> below grade and installation of 4-inch-diameter ground-water monitoring wells <br /> in the borings to evaluate ground water for possible dissolved hydrocarbons <br /> Plate 2 presents the proposed locations of the soil borings/monitoring wells <br /> o Collect relatively undisturbed soil samples at 5-foot intervals from the ground <br /> surface to the total depth of each boring <br /> 30008-5W 2 <br />
