SCOPE OF WORK <br />' The proposed scope of work is to assess the release of fuel additive MTBE in the shallow soil at the <br /> site, assess the vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon-Impacted soli and ground water on the site <br />' and prepare a remediation feasibility analysis The assessment Includes the following tasks <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities, <br />' • Active soil-vapor sampling near the UST system, <br /> • Installation of one well for interim ground water extraction,four wells for lateral and vertical <br /> I• definition of contaminant plume, <br /> • Laboratory analysis of soil samples, <br /> • Performance of a 24-hour ground water aquifer pumping test, and <br /> • Preparation of a report of findings <br /> 41 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from SJCEHD In addition, an update to the <br /> health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational <br /> Safety and Health Administration, U S Coast Guard and U S Environmental Protection Agency, <br /> 1985) Prior to mobilization, the proposed well locations will be clearly marked and a utility <br /> clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert <br /> 42 PROBING AND COLLECTION OF SOIL GAS SAMPLES <br /> The scope of work includes the advancement of five probe borings Soil gas samples will be <br /> collected from each probe bonng Procedures for soil gas and soil sample collection and analysis are <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
