chain identification (TPH-cc) by EPA Method 8015-modified. Samples will be
analyzed by a fixed-base California-certified laboratory.
4) Screening groundwater survey Seven temporary groundwater monitoring wells
will be installed and groundwater samples from each will be collected for analysis.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for VOCs by EPA Method 8260, and for
total petroleum hydrocarbons by carbon chain identification (TPH-cc) by EPA
Method 8015-modified. Samples will be analyzed by a fixed-base California-
certified laboratory. PEI will attempt to collect preliminary groundwater elevation
data to assess the general direction of groundwater flow. Assume 1 field day.
5) Report preparation and signature by a California Professional Geologist.
C. LIMITATIONS
The Limited Phase II findings are based on the conditions existing at the site on Tuesday and
Wednesday, August 21 and 22, 2012, when the field sampling was conducted. This work was
performed in accordance with the July 31, 2012 proposal that was approved by the Client and
SJCDEH. This Assessment has been conducted and prepared in accordance with generally
accepted practices and procedures exercised by reputable professionals under similar
circumstances. PEI makes no other warranties or guarantees, either expressed or implied, as
to the findings, opinions, or recommendations contained in this report.
Physical limitations to the field work generally included(but were not limited to):
♦ Demolition of a portion of the northeast corner of the warehouse was ongoing concurrent
with the field investigation, limiting access to that area. Some delays were experienced
waiting for property access keys.
This Limited Phase II was not fully comprehensive in nature but was restricted to areas
discussed herein. The findings presented in this report were based on the subsurface
conditions encountered in the areas investigated during the time frame of this assessment.
These findings may not be considered representative of future conditions in the areas
investigated or conditions in any untested areas of the site. This investigation was performed
in accordance with generally accepted practices of the profession undertaking currently similar
studies in the same geographical area. No other warranty is expressed or implied.
It should be recognized that this study was not intended to be a definitive investigation of
potential impact at the subject property. Given that the Scope of Services for this investigation
was limited and that the investigation was further limited by the lack of accessibility in some
areas, it is possible that currently unrecognized impacts (or higher levels than those found) may
exist at the site. Therefore, PEI cannot act as insurers and cannot "certify" that a site is free of
environmental contamination, that impact does not exist below a certain level in other areas of
the site, or that some other, currently unrecognized, environmental impact does not exist at the
site.
Addendum to Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Report Pinnacle Environmental,Inc.
248 Industrial Avenue,Stockton,CA 95206 Page 4
