Pump Port Strainer Installation (For In-Line Check Valves only) Installing the System Pump Port Strainer Installation (For In-Line Check Valves only) If you are using an in-line check valve,follow these steps to install the Pump Port , Strainer: AWARNING Product spillage could create serious environmental and safety hazards. Fire, explosion,or ground contamination could occur. 1. If the PLLD Check Valve is being installed at an existing site,drain the product pipeline using approved containers and procedures that will prevent product spillage. 2. Dispose of drained fuel properly. Used an approved suitable container for moving fuel. Dispose of fuel soaked materials properly and not into trash barrels that may be used by customers. 1. Turn off AC power to the submersible pump and TLS-350 or TLS-35OR system before beginning the installation. 2. If the system is equipped with an in-line shutoff valve,close the valve to reduce 0 the amount of drainage from the product lines.Collect drained fuel in an approved container. 3. Do one of the following: ❑ If the submersible turbine pump is equipped with a mechanical line leak detector,remove the leak detector and any related tubing and fittings.Plug unused port holes,except the LLD pump port,with pipe plug and UL- approved sealant suitable for the fuel involved. ❑ If the submersible turbine pump is not equipped with a mechanical LLD, remove the 2-inch mechanical LLD port plug. 4. Ensure that the sealing surface for the strainer o-ring is smooth and free from corrosion,pitting,and any material build-up[Figure 7 on page 22]. 5. Install the Pump Port Strainer in the mechanical LLD pump port[Figure 5]. Important uRr Seal the NPT threads only with a UL classified nontoxic pipe sealant suitable for the fuel type involved.Do not allow sealant to contact the strainer screen. 18 576013-902, Revision G
