` Connecting the Wiring
Safety Warnings
Circuitry within the sensor and console barrier form an intrinsically safe,
energy-limited system. This system makes the sensor intrinsically safe for use in a
Class I,Group D hazardous location. The sensor wiring is intrinsically safe only when
connected to TLS-350 and TLS-350R consoles.
AWARNING
This device is installed in equipment where potentially lethal voltages
- may exist.
The following hazards exist:
1. Electrical shock resulting in serious injury or death may result if
power is on during installation and the device is improperly
installed.
2. Explosion, property loss,and/or equipment damage could occur
if conduits do not enter the TLS-350 or TLS-350R console through
their designated preformed knockouts.
Observe the following precautions:
1. Before installing this device, turn off power to the system,
including console and submersible pumps.
2. Comply with all applicable codes including: the National
4 Electrical Code;federal, state, and local codes; and other
applicable safety codes.
3. To protect yourself and others from being struck by vehicles,
block off your work area during installation or service.
Refer to the following wiring diagrams as you connect the wiring:
❑ PLLD system—Figure 4 on page 14
❑ Manifolded PLLD system—Figure 10 on page 26
❑ Red Jacket pumps--Figure 17 on page 37
❑ Non-Red Jacket pumps--Figure 18 on page 38
33 576013-902, Revision G
