Heavy Rain or Hail <br /> • Seek shelter in the field vehicles; and <br /> • Avoid driving a vehicle in an area that is, or has the potential for flooding. <br /> 2.2.4 Equipment <br /> All equipment utilized during site operations will be inspected before use. Equipment will be <br /> maintained by qualified personnel in accordance with the manufacturer's specification. Any <br /> modification will be made in accordance with good engineering practices. Malfunctioning <br /> equipment will be tagged and locked out until repairs can be made. Machinery and equipment <br /> components will be designed, secured or covered to minimize hazards caused by breakage, <br /> release of mechanical energy, or other conditions which may cause injury (CCR, Title 8, Section <br /> 3328). <br /> Listed below are specific types of equipment intended for use and related hazard control <br /> procedures to be implemented during site activities: <br /> Manual Movement of Material - The hazards associated with manual shoveling or lifting <br /> material include back injuries, striking other workers with shovels, slipping, tripping, or falling. <br /> The following hazard controls will be implemented: <br /> • Shovel in small quantities; <br /> • Separate workers by at least 5 feet; <br /> • Use proper lifting techniques; <br /> • Use carts or wagons to transport debris; and <br /> • Check work path. <br /> Rough&Ready Island 6 Tetra Tech,Inc. <br /> Revised Draft HSP November 18, 1998 <br />
