MAY-1.9-95 FRI 16:38 CONDOR EARTH TECH 'FAX NO. 2095320773 P. 03
a
. mi lhro•tatyar
May 19,,Ift
MOPOSEDJAWNDMENTS
The Di Salvo-Lad rop site is 10cWed iffittkediatel southeast of the Sharpe Army Depot.
According to SJCPHS,FAD,the groundwater gradient at the Sharpe Amy Depot is consistently
toward the northwest. Based on the cousistenq of the Sharpe Army Depot groundwater gradient and
the close proximity of the Std Army Depot to the Di vo -Lathrop site, Ccmdor prapnses to
install one(1) two-inch diameter monitor well approxi=ely 10 fte northwest of the east end of
TK4. The monitor well borehole will be drilled nssttg 8-nch D.J., continuous-flight,haIlow- tem
augers. The proposed monitor well location is shown is igme 2, attached.
The proposed monitor well location is at the former location of TK5, which was located
north of, and ad1amnt to, TK4. The bottom of TK5 was approximately 11 feet below the Cmund
surface (bgs). In early 1995, the tank exmadot was ba led with clean soli. Condor proposes to
collect soil samples during the drilling of the 2-inch d' er monitor well beginning at approximately
11 feet bgs. Soil samples wiD be collected continuously hereafter until the capillary zone is
encountered. Condor expects the capillary zone to be cacount=W at the Di Salvo -Lathrop site at a
depth ranging from 14 to 17 feet bgs. The bottom-most oil sande collected from the capillary zone
will be retained for laboratory analyses.
The soil sample colleced during installation of the monitor well and subsea=groundwater
samples will be analyzed in a000rdmm with the S)CPHSERD approved amendments to the work
plan. Condor proposes the detection limits listed in Table i for laboratory analyses of the respective
samples. The detection limps listed in Table 1 are the detoctOn limits recommended in the Tri-
Regional Board Staff`Reoommenations for Preliminary 19valuation and Investigation of Underground
Tank Sites, August, 1990.
TAX R 1
][,aboratery Del eWon Bruits
g T E %
Keroseme Diesel Motor ail
5.0 5.0 5.0 .5.D 1.0 1.0 10.0
s s Aft Mft nV ft m9ft m8ft
=WATER 0.5 Q$ a_s 0_05 a.0u 0.5
> Pei 001
 ccsx€on
