Questions Regarding Chain-of-Custody Documentation and Page 2
ALaboratory Results
Proposed Cintra Park Phase II Development, Tract 2705
Tracy, California CTE Job No. 20-0445B
"relinquished by" section, however, the date and ti e were left blank. In all of the above
cases, the sample cooler was transported by the sampler (S.S. Teel) from the site to the
Construction Testing, and Engineering (CTE) offic in Tracy, California. The cooler was
placed in a secure area at the CTE office until it as delivered to the Chromalab facility
by Russ Carpenter. This was not properly doe u ented on the chain-of-custody form.
The date and time relinquished should have been filled in and the "receiver" from the
sampler and "relinquisher" to Chromalab (i.e. Russ Carpenter) should have signed the
form. Although the chin-of-custody was not documented properly, the security of the
samples was maintained, and therefore the sample integrity was not compromised.
Another discrepancy on the chain-of-custody fonns was that the incorrect month was
entered on the 4/8/98 form (i.e. "3/8"instead of"4/8").
-- - .— - If-you-have any-further-qust' ns; lea-sec o riot'he itate tocontact this of'ce.
Respectfully submitted,
CONSTRUCTION TESTING & ENGINEERING, INC.
—5
Steven S.
