Pomba Property
Soil &Groundwater Sampling
the area of the above ground storage tanks Pesticides are stored in this area and
pesticide spray equipment may have been cleaned at the wash rack.
A small house that was constructed in 1938 occupies the 24124 S. Lammers Road
property. A barn, pump house, and storage shed are also located on the parcel. A
mobile home was moved onto the propeity in the late 1970's. The tenant is
currently using the property for a heating and air conditioning business and
refrigerants are used or contained in the air onditioning equipment.
2.0 WORK PLAN
M.J. Kloberdanz & Associates proposes to drill up to S Geo-Probe borings to five feet
below groundwater(water estimated at 15 bgs). O e to two soil samples will be obtained
from each boring location for laboratory analysis. Water samples will be obtained from
all eight borings. Three borings will be drilled int le area of the former underground and
existing above ground tanks at the 24100 Lammers Road property. Additional borings
will be located near the wash rack, associated sep is system, pesticide shed, and area of
oil dumping. The final boring will be drilled at the 24124 Lammers Road address in the
front of the shop area with sampling for freons arid other chlorinated compounds. The
areas to be investigated have been approximated in Figure 2. Since existing structures
and landmarks on the subject property are to be re oved the actural boring locations will
be plotted from the distance to South Lammers and l ltn Streets and provided in the final
report.
Soil samples will be collected at five foot intenials for geological interpretation and
laboratory analysis from each of the borings. Labo atory soil samples to be analyzed will
include a sample from the capillary zone and any apparent layer of contamination. A
groundwater sample will be obtained from each of the borings.
A report of the subsurface investigation containing site map, boring logs, and soil and
groundwater sampling records with laboratory data sheets will be prepared at the end of
this phase of work. All work will be conducted under the direct supervision of a licensed
professional.
2.1 Drilling
Permits will be obtained, as necessary, for t e borings before drilling begins. The
soil boring will be accomplished using a inobile mounted Geoprobe® Systems
drilling rig, Model 5400, employing the use of a 1.25-hollow probe rods.
All drilling equipment will be thoroughly steam cleaned before drilling begins to
prevent the introduction of contamination from off site, and between borings to
prevent cross contamination.
The borings will be logged under the direct supervision of a registered geologist
using the Unified Soil Classification System.
