Pombo Ranch Facility April 24,2005
Remedial Excavation&Source Removal
close proximity to the fuel storage area. Borings B-2, 3, & 4 were drilled around the
' above ground fueling area with boring B-3 located at the location of the former
underground tank excavation. Boring B-5 was also drilled in the area of a previously
removed underground fuel tank. Boring B-6 was drilled in the Truck and Tractor wash
' area and sampled for pesticides and petroleum compounds. Boring B-7 was drilled in a
location where above ground fuel was stored and used historically. Boring B-8 was
drilled in front of the barn at 24124 Lammers Road where refrigeration equipment is
' dismantled. Since there was no apparent spillage or dumping of refrigerants, only
groundwater was sampled and analyzed.
' Soil and Groundwater Labora ory Sample Results (September 16, 1998
Sam ie I.D. San Joaquin
County Environmental Health has since indicated in their letter dated December 8, 1998
that no further assessment of the tank area B-5 will be required. They did require the
vertical and lateral definition of the contamination plume in the area of B-3 and a
minimum of three monitoring wells. A well survey that shows the location of all
agricultural, industrial, domestic, municipal and other wells located within a 2000-foot
radius of the site was also requested. ;
On July 6, 1999 M.J. Kloberdanz & Associates drilled 4 Geoprobe' soil borings to
rvarious depths to determine both the lateral and vertical extent of soil contamination.
Boring B-9 was drilled adjacent to boring B-3, drilled in 1998, in order to obtain a
vertical limit of the soil contamination. Laboratory soil samples were collected every
' 2
