This report documents
compliance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) groundwater
monitoring and sampling requirements for this sampling event.
AUTHORIZATION
The services provided by The Twining Laboratories, Inc. (Twining) were performed in
accordance with contract C-195-0185 dated November 11, 1995 and authorization to proceed
TLP 3797-0264 dated April 10, 1997. These services were authorized by Mr. Robert
Mulford, Vice President and General Manager, Frontier Transportation. Mr. Mulford can
be reached at 3577 West Philadelphia Avenue, Chino, CA 91710, telephone number (909)
590-8200.
METHODOLOGY AND FINDINGS
On April 21, 1997, Twining purged and sampled monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 at
the site. Depth to water measurements collected from the three monitoring wells on this
date, and historic data, are summarized in Table 1. Depth to groundwater measurements
made during the monitoring event were used in conjunction with the well head elevation
data to calculate groundwater elevations and gradient.
The groundwater elevations for monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 indicate that the
groundwater flow direction beneath the site on April 21, 1997 was predominantly toward the
northwest with a gradient of 0.002 foot per foot (Drawing 1). Previous groundwater
monitoring events in August 1996 indicated that groundwater flowed primarily toward the
northwest.
CORPORATE OFFICE: MODESTO VISALIA BAKERSFIELD
2527 Fresno Street 4230 Kiernan Ave.,Suite 105 130 North Kelsey St.,Suite H6 3701 Pegasus Drive,Suite 124
Fresno,CA 93721 Modesto,CA 95256 Visalia,CA 93291 Bakersfield,CA 93308
(209)268-7021 -Fax 268-7126 {209)545.1050-Fax 545-1147 (209)651.8280•Fax 651-8288 (805)393-5088-Fax 393.4643
