7kedweII&Rollo
On 14 October 1999, Blaine Tech developed the four wells (2AMW-12 through 2AMW-15) by
using a surge block and purging the groundwater with a submersible pump. Following the
' purging, groundwater samples were collected from the four wells and a duplicate sample
(2AMW-16) was collected from well 2AMW-14.
3.3 Area 2B
3.3.1 Soil and Grab Groundwater Sampling
On 15 September 1999, Precision used a backhoe to dig one exploratory pit at Area 2B. Test pit
2BTP-1 was excavated to ten feet at the location shown on Figure 5. Soil samples were collected
tat the locations shown on the test pit log in Appendix C.
On 17 September 1999, Precision used the SD-1 direct push rig to collect soil and groundwater
samples. Soil borings 2BB-1 and 2BB-2 were pushed to a depth of 10 feet and 2BB-3 was
pushed to a depth of 25 feet. Soil Samples were collected at locations shown on the boring logs
in Appendix C. Groundwater grab sampling was performed on boring 2BB-3.
3.3.2 Groundwater Monitoring Well Development and Sampling
On 11 October 1999, THF installed one monitoring well under the direction of Treadwell &
' Rollo. Boring 2BMW-1 was drilled to a depth of approximately 30 feet. Soil samples were
collected for laboratory analysis at the depths shown on boring logs in Appendix C and at the
locations shown in Figure 5. Upon completion of the soil boring the monitoring well was
installed.
On 14 October 1999 Blaine Tech developed monitoring well 2BMW-1 by using a surge block
and purging the groundwater with a submersible pump. Following the purging, groundwater
samples were collected from the well using a disposable bailer.
10
25910119.DGD 13 December 1999
1
