Treadwell&Rollo <br /> ' VOLUME II <br /> SITE CHARACTERIZATION REPORT <br /> SOUTH SHORE PARCELS <br /> ' Stockton, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' This report has been prepared by Treadwell & Rollo Inc. for the Stockton Department of <br /> Housing and Redevelopment(DHR) and describes the results of soil and groundwater <br /> ' investigations and Preliminary Endangerment Assessments (PEAs) for 10 land parcels, located in <br /> Stockton, California(Figure 1). Six parcels are located on the north side of the Stockton <br /> ' Channel (North Shore Parcels) as shown on Figure 2, and four parcels are located on the south <br /> side of the Stockton Channel (South Shore Parcels) as shown on Figure 3. <br /> The report is divided into four volumes. Volumes I and II present the investigation results and <br /> ' PEAs for the North and South Shore Parcels respectively. Volumes III and IV present the <br /> laboratory data sheets in chronological order. The activities described herein were completed in <br /> general accordance with Treadwell &Rollo's Scope of Work dated 17 June 1999 (Treadwell & <br /> Rollo 1999a), and workplans for the North and South Shore Parcels dated 9 September 1999 <br /> (Treadwell & Rollo 1999b and 1999c), which were submitted to the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Division(SJCED) for review prior to the issuance of boring permits. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The DHR has identified the South Shore Parcels as Areas 2A (L&M Petroleum/Unocal/Morton <br /> Paint), 213 (Seaside Oil), 3, and 4. Previous soil and groundwater investigations have only been <br /> conducted at Area 2A. The following are brief summaries of the former uses and environmental <br /> conditions of each area. More detailed descriptions of individual sites can be found by referring <br /> to reports listed in the references section. <br />
