1 <br /> 1 <br /> Treadwell&Rollo <br /> ' An abandoned railroad spur runs through the center of the site. No previous soil or groundwater <br /> sampling is known to have occurred at this site, and there are no known hazardous materials <br /> impacts in soil or groundwater. Currently the site is a vacant soil lot with no above-ground <br /> structures remaining. There are some small concrete slabs presents as shown on Figure 6. <br /> ' Records have been reviewed which indicated that permits were issued to install 2 USTs at this <br /> site, however, no evidence was found indicating that the USTs were ever installed or removed <br /> ' (Black& Veatch 1998). <br /> ' 2.4 Area 4 <br /> ' This site is located north of Market Street between Lincoln and Van Buren Streets (Figure 7). <br /> The site appears to have been used primarily for residential use although the railroad spur found <br /> in Area 3 continues into Area 4. No previous soil or groundwater sampling is known to have <br /> occurred at this site, and there are no known hazardous materials impacts in soil or groundwater. <br /> Currently the site is a vacant soil lot with no structures remaining. <br /> ' 3.0 SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> ' On 17, 18, and 19 August 1999,NORCAL Geophysical Consultants Inc. of Santa Rosa, <br /> California conducted a geophysical survey for parcels 2A and 3. Between 13 September 1999 <br /> ' and 18 October 1999, Precision Sampling, Inc. of Richmond, California performed drilling, <br /> excavation, and well installation operations at the South Shore Parcels. Groundwater sampling <br /> t was conducted on 1 and 2 September 1999 and 14 October 1999 by Blaine Tech Services Inc. of <br /> San Jose, California and, on 29 September 1999 by T& R personnel. All field operations were <br /> ' performed under the direction of T& R in accordance with Task 3 presented in the 17 June 1999 <br /> Scope of Work, and the 9 September 1999 workplan for the South Shore Parcels. <br /> 3.1 Investigation Methodology <br /> ' An explanation of the techniques used in the field investigation for this project are described in <br /> the following sections. _ <br /> ' 3 <br /> 25970119.DGD 13 December 1999 <br />
