HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> Chemical hazards anticipated: <br /> Chemical Name PEL IDLH IP LEL Route of Entry <br /> Gasoline,Diesel,BTEX 1ppm 3,000ppm 9.24ev 1.5% all <br /> Physical hazards anticipated: <br /> Hazard: Heat exhaustion,tripping,equipment,hazards.falls <br /> Hazard control: Sturdy shoes will be worn when working within the work zone. Work zone will be <br /> kept in an orderly fashion to minimize tripping hazards. Plenty of fluid will be kept <br /> on-site to minimize the threat of heat exhaustion. <br /> IV. SITE CONTROL <br /> Description of Work Zone and Boundaries Site May Attached <br /> All sampling and decontamination activities will be performed within the general study area shown. <br /> Standard Operating Procedures: <br /> A. Sampling procedures: Sampling will be conducted in accordance with the attached Workplan. <br /> B. Excavations:not anticipated <br /> C. Permit-required Confined Spaces:none <br /> D. Heat Stress:At temperatures above 70 degrees F.,especially when PPE is used,heat stress is often the greatest <br /> site hazard. Appropriate cooling equipment,cooled drinking fluids,and frequent breaks will be provided. <br /> Personnel will make every effort to prevent and treat heat stress in accordance with first aid training. <br /> E. Material Safety Data Sheets:no hazardous chemicals use is anticipated. <br /> F. All personnel arriving or departing the site will log in and out with the Principal or Project Geologist.All <br /> activities on site must be cleared through the Principal or Project Geologist. <br /> G. Normal and Emergency Communications:A cellular phone or cellular radio will be present on-site. <br /> H. If adverse weather is possible,monitor a local radio broadcast station or other service to stay abreast of the <br /> weather. <br />
