The Work Plan
proposes to collect a groundwater sample from the nearest available existing monitoring well to analyze
for jet fuel. The nearest available monitoring well is associated with the former Chevron Service Station
9-8632 located at 575 West Grant Line Road.
Although Regional Board staff would prefer that the existing well not be associated with Chevron, upon
review of information in Geotracker, the location proposed appears to be the closest site with existing
monitoring wells to 541 West Grant Line. Of the wells associated with the former Chevron Service
Station, CPL must sample the well that is either closest to the pipeline with the most shallow screen
depth. By 2 September 2005, please submit a report discussing the sampling of the well, including a
sampling log, the full laboratory analytical data package including chromatograms, and a thorough
discussion of the total petroleum hydrocarbon sampling results as it compares to the product currently and
historically pumped through the pipeline.
As of today, I will no longer be the project manager for this site. Until a new project manager is assigned,
correspondence and inquiries should be directed to Mr. Duncan Austin, who may be contacted at
(916) 464-4712 or daustin@waterboards.ca.gov.
DEVRA LEWIS
Environmental Scientist
cc: Mr. Harlen Knoll, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Mr. Criseldo Mina, City of Tracy, Dept of Development and Engineering Services, Tracy
Ms. Diane Russell, ChevronTexaco Pipeline Company, Law Department, Houston, TX
Mr. Tom Brenkwitz,Tracy
Mr. David Evans, SECOR International Incorporated, Sacramento
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
