Enclosed
are the soil boring logs and copies of certified laboratory reports ,
Three soil borings were advanced to depths ranging from 7 to 10 feet below grade in order to obtain
ground water samples. Sample collection was attempted with a hydropunch, but was unsuccessful because
soils underlying the site are predominantly fine-grained (silts and clays) . Ground water samples were
collected using new disposable bailers . Following collection in 40 milliliter VOA vials, samples were
immediately sealed, labeled, and stored on ice until delivered to a state-certified laboratory for analysis
of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) , and benzene, toluene, xylene, and ethylbenzene by U. S .
Environmental Protection Agency Methods 8015 and 8020, respectively.
Upon completion of drilling and sampling activities , each soil boring was backfilled to ground surface with
bentonite chips , as indicated on the soil boring logs .
The results of chemical analysis are presented in Table 1 (enclosed) . The results of chemical analysis for
soil borings SB -7 and SB -9 showed levels below the detection limit for TPH and benzene. The analytical
results from soil boring SB -8 showed a benzene level below the detection limit and a TPH concentration
of 0. 16 parts per million.
Please contact me at (916) 638-2085 if you have any questions or concerns regarding this site.
Sincerely,
DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
t
Erin Dougherty D E D 2 7 tv } 3
Project Manager EN / fP ' :' "
ED : ecd
Enclosures
Practical Solutions to Environmental Concerns
