SOIL ASSESSMENT FOR PROPERTY ACQUISITION <br /> Intersection of Interstate 205 and Grant Line Road <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Delta Project No. 40-89-052 <br /> Page 2 <br /> • Selected soil samples were submitted to a State-certified laboratory for chemical analysis. <br /> • Selected soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)and benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency <br /> (EPA) Method 8260. Five surface soil samples were composited at the laboratory for <br /> analysis of pesticides and herbicides by EPA Method 625/8270. <br /> • This report was prepared summarizing Delta's findings. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> 2.1 Site Settine <br /> The site is an undeveloped 2.0-acre lot located at the intersection of I-205 and Grant Line Road in <br /> Tracy, San Joaquin County, California (Section 18, T.2S., R.5E., MDB&M) as shown in Figure 1. <br /> Records from the San Joaquin County Assessor's Office show that this is Parcel No. 211-510-19 and <br /> that the land is currently owned by Tracy Orchards, Inc. <br /> The site lies in a semirural area and is bounded to the northwest by I-205, to the east by farmland, <br /> and to the south by commercial businesses across Grant Line Road, including two restaurants and <br /> a gasoline station. <br /> 2.2 Utilities <br /> Underground utilities near the site include two sanitary sewer lines and a water line, which are <br /> located east of I-205 along Grant Line Road. According to the City of Tracy, Public Works <br /> Department, the smaller (4-inch-diameter) sewer line is thought to be abandoned. Pacific Bell <br /> telephone cables are present along Grant Line Road near the southern edge of the property. <br /> Overhead lines are also present and run west to east along Grant Line Road. <br /> 2.3 Spill/Leak History <br /> No spills or leaks have been reported at the site. Truckers who use the southern portion of the <br /> property as parking have been observed draining their oil on the surface of the site. <br />
