t t
Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation-Update-2 Page 3 of 18
Great Pacific Nut—Nut Processing Facility Expansion
3501 Lehman Road, Tracy, California
September 6,2019 CTE Job#25-0710G
described above was originally identified as "P-1" in the first report, but, has been
identified as "P-1X" in subsequent reports (including the attached report) and "P-
1"was reassigned to the second test performed on July 19, 2019. As a result, and
indicated herein, the attached report should be considered to supersede the
previous report(s). Based on the failing test, the proposed leach field location was
shifted to the east and an additional test (identified as "P-1" in this report) was
performed within that area. Information from test "P-1X" was not used in the
calculations since it was a failing test located within the old proposed leach field
area. Percolation tests herein are accurately located and identified.
Regarding the SJCEHD comment indicating a permit was not obtained for the geological
(groundwater)boring.
• Please note that an "Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Permit"was issued
for to perform the percolation testing by SJCEHD on 4/4/19 and is included
within the report in Appendix B. CTE (apparently incorrectly) assumed that
the groundwater boring would be included with the percolation testing since
the county requires a 10 ft separation between high groundwater and the
bottom of the leach field. Please accept our apology for this
misunderstanding. In the future we will be sure to obtain a separate permit for
any additional groundwater borings.
• In a telephone call with SJCEHD, on July 26, 2019, regarding permitting for
percolation tests, it was conveyed that a permit is not necessary for
percolation tests to be used for design of stormwater drainage systems, but, is
required for percolation tests used in design of septic systems. If this
information is inaccurate please notify our office.
Regarding the SJCEHD comment to provide clarifying information on the dates installed,
purpose, the depths and actual locations of all borings and OWTS percolation test holes.
• Requested information is included within the attached report, purpose of test
holes P-1 and P-IX was to perform percolation testing; dates, locations and
depths herein are accurate in the report and information provided in the
attached report should be considered to supersede any previous reports or
other previous information provided by this office.
Regarding the SJCEHD comment that clarification or corrections should be made to
inconsistencies in our nitrate loading estimate.
• Corrections have been made to the attached report.
Please note that we are in the process of obtaining a sample of well water from the site
for background Nitrate testing.
SACRAMENTO • FREMONT • MODESTO
INSPECTION&TESTING•GEOTECHNICAL•ENVIRONMENTAL-CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING
