CST Station No. 3641 October 30, 2014
Stockton, California Baseline Assessment Report
Soil samples were submitted to Kiff Analytical LLC (ELAP #08263CA) of Davis
California. Selected soil samples (15 and 25-foot samples from each boring) were analyzed
for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), the volatile aromatic compounds
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), and the five fuel oxygenates
methyl-t-butyl ether (MTBE), diisopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl-t-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-
amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tert-butanol (TBA) by EPA Method 8260B. The 4-point
soil cuttings samples were composited at the laboratory and analyzed for TPHg, BTEX,
MTBE by EPA Method 8260B and for total lead by EPA Method 6010. The analytical
report is attached.
Results
Soils encountered consisted predominantly of silty sand with subordinate sandy silt and silty
clay. Analytical data reported no TPHg, BTEX, or fuel oxygenate concentrations above
reporting limits in any soil boring sample. The sole analyte detected in the soil cuttings
composite sample was total lead at a concentration of 4.7 milligrams per kilogram (parts per
million); this is within the range of naturally-occurring background lead concentrations.
Limitations
The investigation documented in this report was conducted in accordance with the attached
Field Methods and Procedures and generally accepted standards of environmental practice
in California at the time of the investigation. The investigation was conducted solely for the
purpose of evaluating subsurface environmental conditions with respect to fuel-related
hydrocarbons. No soil engineering or geotechnical references are implied or should be
inferred. Evaluation of the geological and environmental conditions at the site was based on
a limited number of investigation points. Subsurface conditions may vary at locations other
than those documented in this report. This report is the property of Horizon Environmental
Inc. and CST Brands and was prepared for CST Brands for their sole use and distribution.
Contact Horizon at 916-939-2170 if you have any questions or re;erk [o
information.
Sincerely,
HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. p r
PCO,
rvm
t
L
Gary Barker Rexford Smith, P.G.
