The work will be conducted in <br /> accordance with the September 22, 2008 Workplan for Subsurface Investigation/Monitoring Well <br /> Installation, which was approved by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) <br /> in correspondence dated October 3,2008. <br /> The four proposed monitoring wells will be installed to investigate the nature and extent of soil and <br /> groundwater contamination resulting from an above ground fuel storage tank (AST) release at the <br /> subject site. Well MWl will be installed using 10-inch diameter hollow stem augers and will be <br /> constructed with 4-inch diameter PVC casing while wells MW2, MW3 and MW4 will be installed with <br /> 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers and will be constructed with 2-inch diameter PVC casing. The <br /> wells will drilled to a depth of 10 feet below where groundwater is first encountered; Depth to <br /> groundwater is expected to be approximately 60 feet below the ground surface (bgs). The wells will be <br /> installed by V&W Drilling, Inc (C57-720904) under the supervision of a Ground Zero geologist. The <br /> location of proposed wells can be seen on the site plan provided as Figure 2. <br /> You will be provided with at least 48-hours notice prior to conducting fieldwork.
