The proposed borings
will be advanced to further investigate the extent of soil contamination resulting from an above
ground fuel storage tank (AST) release at the subject site. The approximate locations of soil
borings SBI, SB2 and SB3 are shown on Figure 3; the locations of SB4, SB5 and SB6 will be
contingent on field observations and subjective analysis with a photoionization detector (PID).
The objective is to determine the lateral extent of the soil contamination around the "hot-spot'
located near MW 1 and boring B2. The borings will be advanced in accordance with the January
23, 2009, Workplan for Additional Subsurface Investigation, which was approved by the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB).
Fieldwork has been scheduled for April 20, 2009. We apologize for the short notice on the permit
request but we would like to request that our application be expedited so we do not have to
reschedule drilling activities. Please feel free to call me at (209) 838-9888 if you have any
questions regarding the workplan, permit application,or proposed schedule.
Respectfully,
Ground,no Analysis, Inc.
Eric L.
