In the central portion of the site, there is a canopy that covers 12 diesel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF)
refueling islands used by commercial trucks (Figure 2). The DEF is dispensed from a 6,000-gallon UST
located to the west of the diesel dispenser canopy. The diesel fuel is dispensed from four 10,000-gallon
ASTs located on the east side of the property. The ASTs are located in a concrete containment area that
is approximately, 71 feet long, 27.5 feet wide, and 5,5 inches deep. Diesel deliveries are made to the
ASTs inside a rollover containment berm adjacent to the AST area.
A truck scale is present on the southern portion of the facility near a building used to wash commercial j
trucks. Another small building is located in the southeastern corner of the property that is used as an
office for the cominercial truck washing tenant(Figure 2). The truck washing business may operate
additional portable or fixed storage containers. However, as these containers are not operated or
maintained by Joe's Travel Plaza, they are not included with this SPCC plan.
OIL STORAGE CONTAINERS (40 CFR 112.7(a)(3)(i)) '
Fixed Oil Storage Containers
i
There are four active ASTs at the subject site (AST-1 through AST-4). The AST re single-walled
ASTs constructed of steel. The ASTs are located in a concrete containment beriThe capacities of
fixed oil storage containers present at the site are summarized in Table A below and the location of each
oil storage container is shown on Figure 2. A technical amendment to this SPCC Plan is required if
any existing tanks at this facility become permanently closed or is new active tanks are installed at
the facility. The SPCC Plan must be amended and recertified man engineer during the technical
amendment. Any fixed container storing oil in quantities of 5 allons or more is listed on the table.
Table A— Fixed Oil Storage Containers
Storage i
ID Capacity Co s Location Comments
(gallons)
AST-1 101000 v Dlesel TankContainment Area Horizontal AST
I
AST-2 10,000 Diesel Tank Containment Area Horizontal AST
AST-3 10,000 Diesel ._= Tank Containment Area Horizontal AST
AST-4 10,000 Diesel Tank Containment Area Horizontal AST
I
Maximum Potential Fixed Storage Capacity for the Site: 40,000 gallons.
Additionally, three USTs are located onsite (one 6,000-gallon, one 10,000-gallon, and one 20,000-gallon
UST with three compartments (12,000/4,000/4,000)).
