3511 N. Riverside Avenue Phone: 678-491-4911
Rialto, CA 92377 Fax: 949-585-8964
MonierLifetile-
October 5,2002
Via Certified Mail/Return Receipt Requested
Mr. Ross D. Atkinson
Regional Water Quality Control Board- Central Valley Region
3443 Routier Road,Suite A
Sacramento, CA 95827-3003
Subject: Review of Pellegri Pad Site Characterization Report
MonierLifetile LLC
Former Pellegri Waste Pile
San Joaquin County
Dear Mr. Atkinson:
Thank you for taking the time to discuss the closure of the above referenced site.
As we discussed, though die Board has requested an additional monitoring well on die site immediately west of the
former pad area, MonierLifetile is requesting that no additional well be put into place. One of the current wells is
located downgradient of the former pad area and another well is periodically down-gradient. To place an additional
well immediately to the west of the former pad would be placing it in an area either within the septic tank and leach
field currently in place or to avoid the system, several hundred feed away the pad area. Due to die limited area of
groundwater impact by the former pad, all of which are below health based limits, and the clean closure of the pad,
the current four wells are believed to be adequate to monitor any potential groundwater impacts.
As requested, MonierLifetile has initiated quarterly groundwater monitoring. Monitoring is being performed for
Cr+6 and TPH-diesel and reports will be submitted following each monitoring event until one year of data is
generated.
Enclosed is also the compact disc with copies of the manifests, waste acceptance, and bills for the removal and
disposal of the pad in the Forward Landfill.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this matter further, please contact me at 678-491-4911.
Respectfully Yours,
MonierLifetile LLC
Sandra L.
