Limited Soil Sampling Work Plan 0
1080 Wildlife Avenue C)
Stockton,California a ntea g ro u p
Antea Group Project No.UPR8298B
3.2 Soil Boring Activities
Antea Group will advance up to 27 soil borings on the subject property to assess potential impacts at locations
where soil will be disturbed during site improvements. Proposed sampling locations are shown on Figure 2 and are
subject to change pending results of the utility survey, access, and the presence of subsurface utilities or other
obstructions. Antea Group will provide oversight and soil sample collection while our licensed subcontractor uses
a hand auger or direct-push rig (Geoprobe® or equivalent) to advance proposed borings to depths ranging from
approximately two to seven feet below ground surface (bgs). The anticipated maximum depth at certain boring
locations may change depending on the site features and field observations. Field personnel will collect soil
samples in stainless steel or bras soil liners,or laboratory-supplied glass jars and place them in an ice-cooled chest.
Following sample collection,Antea Group field personnel will submit the samples to a state-certified laboratory for
analysis of one or more of the following contaminants of concern,based on the sample location:
• Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)by Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)Method 82606;
• Poly-chlorinated biphenyls by EPA Method 8082;
• CAM 17 metals(antimony,arsenic,barium,beryllium,cadmium,chromium,cobalt,copper,lead,mercury,
molybdenum,nickel,selenium,silver,thallium,vanadium,&zinc)by EPA Method 60106/7400,and;
• Pesticides by EPA Method 8081.
Following soil sample collection, the licensed driller will backfill each boring location using neat cement grout,
capping each location with material to match the surrounding ground surface.
3.3 Investigative-Derived Waste
The licensed driller will store all soil cuttings and decontamination water generated during the investigation
activities in Department of Transportation (DOT)approved 55-gallon drums,in accordance with the corresponding
DOT protocols for non-hazardous waste. The Port of Stockton is considered the generator of all investigative-
derived waste and will therefore characterize and dispose of the material.
3.4 Reporting
Upon approval of this Limited Soil Sampling Work Plan, Antea Group will complete pre-field activities, including
permitting,access,and scheduling the field sampling event. Antea Group anticipates the utility clearance will take
one day, followed by the soil sampling (two to three days), which will commence a minimum 48 hours after
contacting USA North for utility clearance. After receipt of the soil analytical data, Antea Group will submit a
report summarizing the field activities and results. A California Professional Geologist will oversee the activities
outlined in this work plan and will oversee the preparation of associated technical reports.
3 www.anteagroup.com
