Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan
Portion of Former TRADEWAY CHEVROLET Facility
1451 Hulsey Way (formerly 1460 West Yosemite Avenue),Manteca,California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Kelvin Ross of Bank of the West,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)
has prepared this Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for the property at 1451 Hulsey Way,
Manteca, California (the site). The site is a portion of the former Tradeway Chevrolet facility,
formerly identified as 1460 West Yosemite Avenue, Manteca, California. The work is being
performed as part of a due diligence for a potential lease of the property. The location of the site is
illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2.
This work plan was prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD)for the procurement of a soil boring permit, and is in accordance with Appendix
A to Tri-Regional Recommendations - Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared by the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank
(UST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is presently undeveloped. The site and surrounding area was formerly part of the Tradeway
Chevrolet facility, an auto sales and service facility. Most of the former Tradeway facility was
located on properties located north and east of the subject site;the subject site was part of the former
Tradeway used car lot, located immediately southwest of the "primary" facilities. The entire area
has been redeveloped for commercial purposes.
Various environmental investigations were performed on the former Tradeway property, including
the advancement and sampling of soil borings, installation of monitoring wells, removal of
underground storage tanks, removal of in-ground hydraulic lifts and excavation and disposal of
hydrocarbon-impacted soil. However, none of the previous investigations were performed on what
is now the subject property(Hulsey Way).
3.0. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING
The site is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate
northwest tending, asymmetric structural trough. The Great Valley Province has been filled with
thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat lying
alluvial plain, which extends from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains
in the north. The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California
Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively. Rocks composing the basement complex of the
province have not been completely defined but are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
