Hazardous waste container storage and transfer areas shall be inspected weekly for leaking containers <br />and for deterioration of containers and the containment system caused by corrosion and other factors. Immediately <br />begin conducting the necessary weekly inspections for all hazardous waste containers at this facility. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br />'8 <br />CCR 66266.130 Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters. <br />Bills of lading for the recycling of used oil filters for the last three years were not found on site. A copy of each bill of <br />lading must be kept on site for at least three years. Immediately locate a copy of all bills of lading for used oil filters <br />for the last three years, maintain them on site, and submit copies to the EHD. <br />One open 55 -gallon container of used oil and gasoline filters (1/2 full) was noted inside the hazardous waste storage <br />area. Also one fuel filter was located on the ground in the hazardous waste storage area and one was located outside <br />of the shop inside a container full of dry grass which was located adjacent to the back door; both of the observed filters <br />were placed inside the filter storage container at the time of inspection. Used oil filters shall be drained of free-flowing <br />oil, stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil and gasoline filters," and marked with an <br />accumulation start date. Immediately close the above filter container and ensure that all used oil filters are managed <br />in this way.
