Ameron Dualoy° Pipe Monitoring System
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The State of California has passed new requirements for new pipelines and their
associated leak detection systems. These requirements are described in SB 2481 and
require that pressure, vacuum or hydrostatic level monitoring be maintained in the
interstitial space of a double wall pipe for leak detection purposes.
This document describes the testing that was conducted on the Ameron Dualoy°
Pipe Monitoring System. The results of the evaluation make it possible for users,
regulators and other interested parties to evaluate the performance of the leak detector
and to compare its performance with other similar methods. The results of this
evaluation may be applied to any system that monitors the liquid level in a reservoir
attached to the annular space of double wall pipe. The results of this evaluation can be
found in Appendix A of this report. The test data is in Appendix D.
Because the number of tests was limited, the worst-case conditions were selected
for the calculation of the pressure and temperature effects on the brine level.
