<#*> ETIC
May 24,2007
Mr. Paul Anderson
QA Director/Project Manager
PSC Environmental Services
210 West Sand Bank Road
Columbia,Illinois 62236
Subject: Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan Addendum
Former Colombo/Toscana Bakery
1444 South Lincoln Street, Stockton,California 95206
RWQCB File#390825
Dear Mr. Anderson:
At your request, ETIC Engineering, Inc. (ETIC) has prepared this Soil and Groundwater
Investigation Work Plan Addendum for the former Colombo/Toscana Bakery (Colombo/Toscana)
located at 1444 South Lincoln Street in Stockton, California (the Site) (Figure 1). In accordance
with the March 1, 2007 Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan, this work plan addendum
has been prepared to summarize the site subsurface conditions and to describe the locations and
details of proposed groundwater monitoring wells. The Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board(CVRWQCB)approved the work plan in their March 12,2007 letter(Appendix A).
In accordance with the Soil and Groundwater Investigation Work Plan, 11 soil borings(C1 through
C1 1) were drilled at the Site between April 30 and May 3, 2007. The locations of the borings are
shown on Figure 2.
Soil and grab groundwater samples were collected from borings C 1 through C 1 I and transported
under chain-of-custody protocol to Kiff Analytical (Kiff), a state-certified laboratory, in Davis,
California. Kiff analyzed the samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g),
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), five fuel oxygenates [methyl tertiary
butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl
methyl ether(TAME) and tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA)], and fuel additives 1,2-dibromoethane(1,2-
DBA) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260B. The analytical data are
presented in Tables 1 and 2.
Completed soil borings C1 through C11 were filled and sealed with a grout mixture consisting of
neat cement in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD)
2285 Morello Avenue, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523 • Phone: 925.602.4710 • Fax: 925.602.4720 • License #624022
