10 April 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0912
ANALYTICAL METHODS
The collected soil and groundwater samples were transported under chain-of-custody to a California
Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for analysis for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M; and
• Volatile aromatic compounds - benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene (BTEX) with
methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) - in accordance with Method SW846 8021; and
In addition, the ground water samples were analyzed for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in
accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified.
FINDINGS
A total of three soil samples and three grab ground water samples were submitted to CTEL for
analysis as noted above. No target analytes were detected in the analyzed soil and ground water
samples. The analytical results are summarized in Table 1. A copy of the laboratory report (CTEL
Laboratory IDs 0204-019-1 through 0204-019-3, 0204-019-5, 0204-019-9 and 0204-019-13) is
included in Appendix A.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon non-detectable concentrations of contaminants in soil and ground water samples,AGE
recommends that no further action be taken at the site.
LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluation of the
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from
a limited number of available data points(i.e. soil borings,soil samples,ground water samples)and
subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or
implied, is made as to the professional interpetations, opinions and recommendations contained in
this report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmewal,Ine.
