The following fire code violations were noted and must be corrected immediately. <br />Those items that require a building permit shall be inspected upon completion of the permit work. <br />Relocate the barrel of flammable liquids to an approved storage area. Remove the gravity pour <br />spout, and replace it with a top pump so the container cannot be laid down or tipped to dispense <br />the liquids. Provide secondary containment for the two remaining containers of coating fluid and <br />rust inhibitor. Liquids can only be dispensed from a self-closing gravity spigot. Designate a <br />dispensing area separate from product storage (the containers are currently located against the <br />south wall, beneath the product storage racks). California Fire Code (CFC), §7903 <br />Designate and mark an area for the storage of waste liquid. Do not mix product storage with <br />waste storage. Provide secondary containment for all waste storage. CFC, §8003 <br />Do not stack the barrels of liquid hazardous waste. Provide secondary containment for all <br />containers. Three containers per containment unit will meet the requirements for capturing liquid <br />hazardous waste from leaking containers. CFC, §8003 <br />4. Separate the empty containers and product boxes from the storage of core wastewater from <br />machines located outside (north yard). Provide secondary containment for the water, unless it is <br />shown not to contain contaminants or a pH outside of the Federal or State guidelines. Maintain a <br />log showing the pH for each waste batch. CFC, §8003 <br />Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets readily available at all times to employees in areas where <br />the chemicals are stored and used. A log shall be provided for the pH testing of the wastewater <br />containers prior to labeling. Label all containers with proper waste labels. <br />6. Provide the combustible three -sided building (north yard) with an approved sprinkler system for <br />the storage of flammable liquids. Plans shall be submitted to the Fire Department prior to <br />installation. Remove the gravity spigots from the flammable containers, and only use overhead <br />pumps to dispense flammable liquids from the barrels. All flammable liquids shall be grounded <br />within the storage area. Remove the plastic gasoline container, and repair the approved metal <br />safety can used for dispensing flammable liquids. CFC, §1003.2.6 <br />Capture the oils from the Cell -C dismantling tables into closed containers. Remove the half - <br />barrel unit beneath the table.
