Section 2.0 Salo phing
2.1 Sample Collection Procedures
The rinse water is tested for pH with an Oakton PH FM I continuous monitor by Premier's
wastewater treatment operator. Any waste, including process water, rinse water,_pressure wash
wastewater and the filter cake which can potentially exhibit the characteristic of corrosivity and/or
toxicity because of California regulated metals, and cannot be treated on-site will be sampled by
Shop Hazard Solutions. Shop Hazard Solutions will collect and manage samples in accordance
with SW-846 procedures. Samples for the process water, rinse water and pressure wash wastewater
will be collected directly from the respective tank with the use of a coliwasa sampler(or equivalent
means), a representative sample will be collected of the filter cake once the cake is removed from
the filter process.
2.2 Test Methods
Samples collected by Shop Hazard Solutions will be submitted to Castle Analytical Laboratory
(ELAP Certification 92480) in accordance with the applicable holding times and conditions. The
following table identifies the test methods used to characterize aqueous waste (process wastewater
&rinse water) and filter cake analysis:
Aqueous Waste CAM-17 Metals 3010A & 7470A (Mercury)
pH SM4500
Filter Cake CAM-17 Metals 6020
Analytical reports for waste determination are included as Attachment H.
2.3 Sampling Frequency
Rinse water and filter cake waste will be re-sampled when a new product is used on the plating
line or there is a change to the plating process which could impact the characteristic of either of
these waste streams. Process wastewater will be sampled prior to disposal (typically the process
wastewater is rarely, if ever changed out). Analytical records will be maintained on-site for a
minimum of three years from the date any of these waste streams are sent off-site for disposal in
accordance with Title 22 CCR 66262.40(c). +
Pren er Finishing YYaste Analysis Plan
4
